| The Herman Lake Trailhead is located at the northeast corner of Exit 218 from I-70, elevation 10,149. Today I was hiking with Dave Johnston, who I met on my Blue Lake hike, and his friend Howard Roerig. We hiked to Herman Lake. It is uphill every step of the way, with a total elevation gain of 1600 feet over 3.5 miles. | |

| Sweet... |

| We went left to Herman Lake. On the return trip I took a short walk to an unnamed saddle via the Jones Pass South trail. |
| Almost there, Dave. (Dave is 69 years old!) |
