Whole Wheat Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon honey


Directions

  • Oven preheated to 450.
  • Blend all the dry ingredients.
  • Cut the soft butter into the dry.
  • Add the wet ingredients all at once.
  • Stir until ingredients are just blended.
  • Turn out onto a floured counter and knead softly a couple times.
  • Roll out to a healthly 1/2" and cut into squares or use a overturned glass to cut circles.
  • Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet about 10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned and middles are firm. Do not overbake!
