Apple Betty

Ingredients
- 3# bag of apples (McIntosh or Granny Smith are good) peeled, cored, and sliced in medium slices
- 1/4 cup orange juice or juice of one lemon
- 1 cup sugar (white or brown your choice)
- 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter
Directions
- Place prepared apples in a buttered 9x13 glass pan and sprinkle the top with the orange or lemon juice.
- Combine sugar, flour, spices, and a dash of salt; cut in butter till mixture is crumbly; sprinkle over apples.
- Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or till apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm with ice cream. Serves 6.
